THE GLO FOUNDATION’S CODES OF CONDUCT  SAFETY

  • Volunteer agrees to maintain high standards of respect for the local community, its beliefs and customs
  • Volunteer agrees at all times to consider themselves ambassadors for their country and to respect the property of their hosts.
  • Volunteer is responsible for booking and purchase of flights.
  • Volunteer must not engage in activity that may cause danger or distress to The Glo Foundation staff, or other members of the Program or people in the community
  • Volunteer agrees to contact their Volunteer Coordinator in the event of any difficulties or problems arising during the program.
  • Volunteer travelling to Honduras agrees to seek medical advice on any vaccinations or medical/dietary issues prior to departure.
  • Volunteer must operate in any matter that is contrary to the best interests of The Glo Foundation.
  • Unsupervised departure or independent travel by Volunteer away from the city or village of the Program is strictly prohibited due to potential safety and security worldwide.
  • Use of inappropriate language (i.e. profanity) at the program is strictly prohibited.
  • Consuming alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, or non-prescribed drugs, including narcotics during the program are strictly prohibited.
  • Petty theft occurs worldwide. The Glo Foundation will not be held responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property or equipment. The Glo Foundation strongly advises Volunteer not to bring expensive or irreplaceable items.
  • Participants agree to contribute a generous donations; cash or supplies.
  • Travel insurance is a compulsory requirement for travelling on our volunteer program. Travel insurance should include:

                        •Unlimited medical and hospital treatment abroad

                        •Repatriation costs
                        •Any medical costs resulting from an accident
                        •Liability cover
                        •Limited life insurance, accidental disability and emergency dental treatment cover

  • Please note that you would need to purchase additional travel insurance to cover you for delay/cancellation of flights.
  • Volunteer consents to the use of Volunteer’s likeness (whether photographed, filmed or videotaped), the facts concerning Volunteer’s participation in the Program and/or Volunteer’s oral or written comments or any portion thereof, in any manner now or in the future, including, without limitation, in fundraising and promotional materials, advertising for television, radio, print or other media, and any other Glo Foundation presentations or publications. Volunteer agrees that, in connection with such use, The Glo Foundation and persons acting for or on behalf of The Glo Foundation may identify Volunteer by name, age, and state or country of residence.
  • Volunteer acknowledges and understands that, when signing and delivering this Application to The Glo Foundation through fax, e-mail or other electronic means, this Agreement will be binding upon the volunteer from the time it electronically submits (by fax, e-mail or through any other electronic means) this Agreement to The Glo Foundation.
